Properly designed and engineered, the Pyramid is a symbol of what men working together can achieve. A pyramid lasts for thousands of years, if built on a proper foundation. Today’’s pyramid is built on a solid foundation of core values, integrity, honor, and providing lasting value to others. Pyramid schemes, on the other hand, are built on profit motivation and the get rich quick state of mind. MLM Pyramids are built by providing lasting value to others in the form of mentorship, training, edification and support. Great MLMs offer personal growth and development, insights into modern business and strategies, and provide training with a servant leadership mentality. Many of the problems in modern business arise from the desire to profit at the expense of others. MLM operates on a different paradigm of profiting by providing value to others and getting rich with them. For those with a corporate background, in the cutthroat world of business, this is a difficult mental shift to make. You get ahead in the corporate world by climbing over other people, stabbing people in the back and taking advantage of other people. In MLM, you get ahead by lifting other people up, patting people on the back, encourage and edifying others, and working towards common goals. The reason why this model works is that it is self sustaining, self perpetuating, and works on time honored principles. There are many ways to make money in this world, but in order to keep money, you have to provide lasting value to others. When you just take from others, they have no reason to come back as a customer. When you build a relationship with another, you establish trust and respect, which lasts a lifetime. Con Artists who make a killing initiallly will eventually be found out, and no matter how much money they have made, the foundation built on lies, deceptions, and lack of providing value to others with a long term vision will eventually lead to disaster. This is a scenario that has been played out throughout history, and most noteably in financial disasters ranging from WordCom, Enron, the Mortgage Meltdown, to Bernie Madoff. The one thing in common is that these people made money by taking advantage of other people and by building on a false foundation. In the end, their worlds came crashing down around them.
So if you want to build an empire that will last for thousands of years, provide lasting value to others, even if you don’t see an immediate profit. Give without expectation of return; be detached from the outcome in the present, but be focused on providing hope, encouragement, and skills to other people. The universe will reward you many times over by planting the seeds. This is the law of the harvest. You reap what you sow, but it takes time to realize the fruit of your labor.
